Windows VPN Setup
Here are the steps:
- Download the client software
- Install the client software
- Download a copy of the hpcvpn-win.conf file and drop it in your My Documents folder
- Configure the client software using that conf file
- Start the connection
Download the client software
You'll first want to download the Endian Connect client software for your version of Windows from the download page. Note: We only support the the Endian Connect software when connecting to the HPC VPN.
Install the client software
After downloading the Endian Connect client software for your version of Windows, double click on the installer package and accept all the defaults to install the software.
Get a copy of the Windows conf file
Configure the client software
Start the Endian Connect App. You'll configure the connection using the hpcvpn-win.conf file, uncheck the "save password" link, and add your UserID.
Start the app, and begin configuring the connection by clicking on the gear icon:
Then, using the following image as a guide, set the Server type to OpenVPN, and the Configuration mode to Manual. Then, click on the Browse button and select the hpcvpn-win.conf you downloaded earlier.
Once you have the settings configured, you can click on the Ok button to proceed to the login screen.
Start the connection
Since you've given the VPN client your UserID, you'll have to enter your Password and your 6-digit OTP code in the password box, and then click the SIGN IN button as seen in the following image:

Using the connection
You can test the connection by trying to ssh to peregrine (ssh firstname.lastname@example.org) or you could try to visit:
If either of those work, your connection is working.
