To use HPC center resources, you will need access to an allocation.
An allocation is a portion of the HPC center resources planned for a particular research project's use. Resources allocated are Peregrine compute node hours and project storage space on Peregrine and Gyrfalcon.
Allocation requests are excepted in response to an annual call which will be announced on this web page. The next annual allocation period will start in the fall of 2015. Pilot project allocations of up to 10,000 node hours may be requested at any time.
Information about allocation usage is now available to all users with an account on Peregrine.
Users may run jobs at very low priority after usage exceeds node hour allocation.
If a project has exceeded its allocation of storage on the /projects filesystem, we will notify the users associated with the project and request that they move excess data to another filesystem. We reserve the right to take action by moving or deleting the most recent data if users associated with the project are unresponsive and the filesystem is in danger of becoming unstable.
Quotas are enforced on the /mss filesystem, with the quota set to the project's /mss storage allocation.
